Photography is our first love (but don't tell motion).
Whether we’re focus stacking with the technical camera in a blacked out studio or shooting hand-held belly down in a field, crafting a moment is what we’re into. From out-of-home to in your hand, we're happy to capture those static pixels on any scale.
Make it move, you say? You got it.
Destined for a pocket screen or the big screen, captured sliding along a dolly or buzzing through the air, it turns out that motion is just lots of stills in a row. Who knew? Lupine, and he’s always down to have more than one frame to tell the story.
A picture may be worth a thousand words, but sometimes you need a thousand and one to tell the full story. Writer and empath, Sarah, can write those awesome little words that expose the deeper meaning behind the visuals.
At the core of who we are is curiosity. We’re always asking questions, to explore and better understand the “is-ness” of what we create.
In addition to being curious, we’re also good listeners, it’s one of our superpowers. We care about your story, all of the wins and losses, the big ideas and little sacrifices, everything it took to get you where you are today. Once we understand your story, we experiment with cameras, lights, sounds, words; basically anything we can get our hands on, to find the best way to share it.
Let's be real, Lupine and Josh are gear nerds at heart. Whether it's going in a backpack or on a box truck, they're always on the hunt for the next new tool to up efficiency and make space for more creativity.
Sarah has been called the “Spreadsheet Queen” more than once… and she does consider this a compliment. You might feel like it’s just a casual conversation, but rest assured it will all be in the “Production Hub” before you know it. Color coded, scheduled, prioritized, and tracked every step of the way.
A visual left as is, straight out of camera, brings a certain type of magic. Whether we’re adding a simple grade, or spending days and days of post, our goal is the same. Enhance what we created in camera without breaking the spell or stripping away the imperfections that make life magical.
That said, sometimes we want to create something uniquely impossible and can get bogged down by annoying little limitations like gravity and physics, so that’s when we call in “our little friend” as Al Pacino coined. When it’s possible in camera we do it, but when it isn’t post can become a playground for creative enhancement, but never a place to polish a turd.
Do we know the meaning of life? Not yet... but we do think Ekhart is pretty close. That said, here are some answers to the easier questions we get asked.
That's a super easy one. Nope.
We are makers that can help with ideas and production.
Yep.
We partner directly with founders to develop their brand presence from the inside out, and agencies to shoot still/motion campaigns.
We call ourselves a creative studio because we want to creatively bring cool ideas to life whether it's through commercial photography, motion, copywriting or helping to host a cocktail hour.
Nope.
While the word "production" does show up a bunch on our site, we only produce our own work.
Have passport, will fly.
Absolutely! Our Portfolios page shows our work sorted by category and project. We can also put together a curated gallery.
AKA there's a lot more where all of this came from, but scrolling, ugh.
