bio... I grew up in Bolinas, California, a small town just north of San Francisco, known for its artist communities. The son of a sculptor, I was encouraged to develop my creativity at an early age, stimulating my in-born passion for artistic expression and the creative process. I discovered photography in my youth, becoming fascinated with the process of capturing an image, creating something new, and preserving a moment in time. By the age of 15, I had my first job at a photography studio in San Francisco. Over the next few years, my insatiable interest in the medium lead me to learn the business of photography, as well as develop and expand my own artistic identity. Through diverse work experience, assisting architectural, editorial, and advertising photographers, I began to hone my personal drive and interests, and ultimately found the complex and highly creative world of advertising-photography irresistible. In 2002, I began working at the photography studios of Stan Musilek. Thriving in a fast paced advertising studio, I developed my intuition and skill not only as the lead assistant, but also as set builder, location scout, digital tech, producer, and ultimately the man behind the camera. The high-pressure studio environment allowed me to refine and perfect my expertise; creating the foundation upon which I have now built my career. I have been shooting for over half my life. I approach every project with the passion and skill of a seasoned artist, and the determination and excitement of the 15-year-old who was first inspired by photography. When I’m not shooting, you can find me in Marin Country, California, with my wife, and two daughters.
